The sun in the tropics is very strong. During daytime you'd best wear a hat to protect your head and neck from sunburn. The use of suncream with a high protection factor is also recommended.
Also wear a T-shirt when swimming or snorkelling during daytime; in particular at the beach and in the water sunburn danger is extra high. As the refreshing sea breeze makes the sun less hot, you won't notice sunburn until it is too late.
If you like to work on your tan, you'd best do this between 7am and 9am, and between 4pm and sunset; during these periods of the day the sun is less strong, but your tan will be there before you know in the morning- and afternoon sun! |
